There are few casino-style gambling games that offer a proven strategy to increase your odds of winning. Baccarat is one of them. The following discussion details how to play mobile baccarat on Android and iOS smartphones and tablets with a winning strategy.
The first step will be to choose a reliable and secure place to play mobile baccarat. So that’s where we’ll begin.
Where to Play Mobile Baccarat
You have a lot of options here. Aussies are welcome to play mobile baccarat at dozens of highly reputable websites. For the sake of preserving your time, I’ll offer my personal recommendation, Royal Vegas.
I’ve played here for years and never once had any problems with security, payments, or software issues. Royal Vegas is wholly compatible with all Android and iOS mobile devices, as well as Blackberry, Windows Phone, and all major desktop operating systems.
As for game variety, you can’t go wrong. There are around 400 games on the mobile menu. Baccarat comes in half a dozen varieties. They include:
High Limit Baccarat
Live Baccarat (Evolution Gaming)
Live Baccarat (Microgaming)
Live Multiplayer Baccarat (Microgaming)
You are, of course, welcome to do your own research and find an equally distinguished gaming website. With that said, let’s move on to our “How To” section.
How to Play Mobile Baccarat
Baccarat is one of the easiest gambling games in the casino, because you aren’t really ‘playing’ the game. You are merely betting on which hand will win—the Player or Banker. You can also bet on a Tie between these two hands, but I strongly urge you not too. The house edge is far to high.
Baccarat is generally played with 6 decks of cards. The Player and Banker are each dealt 2 cards face up. The Player hand is played first.
The two card values are added together. Aces=1, Face Cards=10, all other cards are face value. If the total equals or exceeds 10, 10 is subtracted from the total to create a single, whole number.
8+7=15; drop the 10, total is 5.
A+9=10; drop the 10, total is 0.
4+5=9, total is 9.
The object is to have the higher total, with the highest being 9.
What happens next depends on several variables:
If the Player hand totals 0-5, Player draws a third card and stands on the total.
If the Dealer hand totals 0-2, Dealer draws a third card and stands on the total.
If the Dealer hand totals 7-9, Dealer stands.
If Dealer hand totals 3-6, Dealer will draw (D) or stand (-) according to the following chart:
If the Player wins, all bets on Player are paid 1:1. [House Edge 1.228%]
If the Banker wins, all winning bets on Banker are paid 1:1, minus 5% commission. [House Edge 1.064%]
If both hands Tie, Tie bets are paid 9:1 [House Edge 9.543%]
Baccarat Winning Strategy
The strategy here is simple. If you look at the House Edge notes above, you’ll see that the Banker is going to win more often. That’s because the rules of the game – like every card-based casino game – favor the Banker.
You’ll also notice there is a 5% commission paid on all winning Banker bets. This is due to the Banker’s edge, but even with the commission applied, the Banker hand still has the best odds of paying off. Thus, the best winning strategy is to always bet on the Banker.
Of course, this doesn’t guarantee a profit. If it did, you couldn’t play mobile baccarat, because no casino would offer it. The occasional Tie hand is what keeps the advantage in the casino’s corner at all times. So you’ll still need a little luck on your side to beat the house.
