GRWA 2017 coming to Sydney to talk Wagering Australia

Australia WageringWhen it comes to wagering Australia is the crown jewel of the global gaming industry. Aussies love to gamble, and the industry is constantly providing newer and more convenient ways for them to do it. All of these issues, and more, will be discussed at the annual Australia wagering conference coming to Sydney in next month.

For the 2014-15 fiscal year, the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation reported that the Australia wagering market generated more than AU-$24.1 billion in wagers. Segregating the expenditures, $11.589 billion—just over half—was spent on pokies. Another $8.7 billion went to the racing industry, with the remaining $815 million wagered on sports.

That’s an awful lot of money moving around. Wagering in Australia has to transition with the times to stay relevant, and the 2017 GRWA will help the industry to maintain that flow.

Australia Wagering Conference August 2017

GRWA Conference on Australia Wagering in Sydney

The 2017 Gaming, Racing, and Wagering Australia (GRWA) summit will be hosted this year in Sydney at the Novotel on Darling Harbour. The conference will begin on Monday, August 14, and wraps up on Wednesday, August 16.

Now in its 8th annual rendition, the GRWA will focus on some new topics this year. One of the more interesting features will be the GRWA’s first-ever interactive, pre-conference workshop.

The workshop is stacking up to be a can’t-miss feature of this year’s conference. It will go beyond the usual topics of Australia wagering, covering the staging and marketing of eSports, an emerging style of betting that’s taken the nation by storm in recent years. The workshop will also feature discussions on how to attract and engage with millennial consumers—the newest generation of gamblers in Australia.

Another important element at the conference will be digital wagering markets. Regulatory issues are vital in the online gambling realm, and will be high on the priority list of attendees from the Casino, Clubs and Gaming industry, as well as Australia Wagering and Racing industry.

The summit’s primary sessions will include updates on the topics of regulation, international markets, security, innovative processes, strategies to help diversify in a crowded landscape, and more.
