Playtech promises New Casino Games with Warners Bros deal

For the last few years, there’s been a trend towards developing new casino games based around popular media titles. Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, Ellen, Guns & Roses – they’ve all been turned into wildly successful mobile casino games. We can expect a lot more from Playtech in the coming year.

Playtech secures Warner Bros Mobile Casio Games Deal

Playtech CEO Mor Weizer made a sweeping announcement yesterday at 2017 ICE Totally Gaming, describing a new contract between the digital gaming content developer and Warner Bros Consumer Products. The two have teamed up in an effort to bring famous DC-branded Warner Bros characters and movie titles onto the gaming screen.

The multi-million dollar partnership is a ‘big deal’, in more ways than one. A wide assortment of Warner Bros most recent blockbusters have been themed around the DC super hero genre, and if Playtech’s ICE booth, Stand N6-140, is any indication, that’s exactly where they intend to look for new mobile casino games content.

It won’t just be a throng of new online poker machines, though. Weizer said the agreement is to create a complete omni-channel gaming infrastructure, which would indicate that Warner Bros big screen heroes could appear in everything from pokies to skill-based arcade style games and more.

Not one to waste an opportunity to promote its upcoming content, Playtech hosted a dramatic production to coincide with the company’s big announcement. The cinematic display included some of Warner Bros’ most successful film releases in recent years, including Batman vs Superman, The Dark Knight, Justice League and Suicide Squad.

New Casino Games DC Comics

Weizer was particularly enthusiastic about it all, telling the ICE Live blog team that Playtech’s new deal with Warner Bros Consumer Products is “very exciting for us!” When the expo wraps up, everyone at Playtech will undertake this latest task of “creating amazing games for both operators and players.”

The announcement confirming the new contract between the two brands shouldn’t have come as too much of a surprise – at least not for anyone who was paying attention at ICE on Tuesday. The Playtech stand was already encapsulated with creatives related to it’s partnership, featuring our favorite super heroes – and villains – like Batman, Green Lantern, Superman and various members of the Suicide Squad.

Playtech was an easy choice for Warner Bros, being the worlds largest publicly traded supplier of online gaming software. It doesn’t hurt that the two companies had already struck a similar deal last year in which Playtech was commissioned to create mobile casino games based on Warner Bros DC-branded film and television series, including several installments of the Batman Classic TV Series, the original 1978 Superman and others.

Today’s agreement takes this launch strategy to the next level by allowing Playtech to expand its robust offering with an array of new games branded to blockbuster DC film titles,” said Weizer in a same-day press release. “In addition, these new titles will contribute to the growth of the prize level of the DC Super Heroes Jackpot.”

Founded in 1999, Playtech has built upon a sturdy foundation that focuses on the development of new casino games across omni-channel platforms. The award-winning company has offices in eleven countries, employing around 3,000 individuals.
